Admission Arrangements 2025-2026

Nursery Applications – September 2025 Admissions

We will open our admissions for Nursery each January. Parents and carers can register their interest for a place by completing the Forms document on the website. Applications will be open for a month in the first instance but may be open longer if spaces are still available.

If we are oversubscribed, the following criteria will be applied:

1. Children living on the Dunstall Park estate who are entering their pre-school year and have a sibling already at DP.
2. Children entering their pre-school year who are not living on the Dunstall Park estate but already have a sibling at DP.
3. Children living on the Dunstall Park estate who are entering their pre-school year.
4. Children entering their pre-school year who are not living on the Dunstall Park estate.
5. Children living on the Dunstall Park estate in the term following their 3^rd birthday and already have a sibling in school at DP.
6. Children living on the Dunstall Park estate in the term following their 3^rd birthday.
7. Children not living on the Dunstall Park estate in the term following their 3^rd birthday.

*‘Pre-school year’ refers to those children who will be starting in reception the following September.

We will consider criteria 3 for those children who have written evidence that they are moving to the estate before 1st September.

In the case of oversubscription for places, we will use the above criteria to create a waiting list. Waiting list places will be offered if or when spaces become available.

If both parties live on the Dunstall Park estate, places will be allocated based on distance from the child’s home address to school (calculated in metres as a GPS straight line).

Please note that a place in our school Nursery does not automatically give your child a place in our Reception the following year. You will need to apply for a school place through the usual Staffordshire application form.

In-Year Admissions

If you are considering moving your child to Dunstall Park, please contact the school office (01827 241020 or admin@dunstallparkprimary.atlp.org.uk) to enquire whether there is sufficient space within your child’s year group. Please note infant class size in accordance with legislation for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 is 30. If space is available, we recommend a school visit to meet the leadership team and to have a tour of the school. Following this, if you would like to submit an application for in-year admission, a request for this must then be made in writing by completing a Staffordshire in year application form. Once we have received your application form, you will receive a written response within 15 school days.
